About the optical module.
Is the optical shop a separate module that costs extra?
No. The optical shop is on every plan, including the free one (15 orders a month). From Practice, $39 USD a month billed annually or $49 USD month to month, orders are unlimited. The counter user isn't charged.
Can front-desk staff see the clinical record?
No, not unless you authorize it. Permissions are defined per user: you can give optical staff access to orders, catalog, inventory and payments, and limit their access to clinical notes.
Can I upload my lens price list?
Yes. The catalog is imported from an Excel template that the system itself generates, with lab, type, index, included treatments, line, family and the sphere, cylinder and add ranges each lens covers. It can also be edited lens by lens and exported back to Excel.
What if the patient brings their own frame?
The order accounts for it: it's recorded as an external frame provided by the patient, with its description, instead of deducting a piece from inventory.
Is the frame deducted from inventory when quoting or when delivering?
At delivery. A quote doesn't move stock; the deduction happens at the moment of delivery, and the system tracks whether that order has already been deducted or not.
